Department of Biotechnology, MIET, Meerut was approved as a research center for conducting Ph.D. by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, on 14th October, 2016.
In Uttar Pradesh, MIET is the first place where Stemformatics is introduced by our research group in 103rd Indian Science Congress, 2016 (Inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister).

A new research facility in the form of Nanotoxicity Research Laboratory was developed under the grant for project Women Scientist Scheme A (WOS-A) sanctioned by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India with a total allocation of Rs 28,38,000/- for three years w.e.f. August, 2015.
A fungus was isolated by Professor A. Subrahmanyam is named on MIET (Mucor imietiana) in 2012. New Facility Developed: Lab facility developed for the Estimation of Bio-molecules using HPLC under MODROBS scheme of AICTE (11.3 Lacs in 2012).
Two cultures of fungus “Aspergillus heteromorphus (accession no. 10685) and Zygosacchromyces bailii (accession no. 11852)” were submitted to Microbial Type Culture Collection (MTCC), Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), Chandigarh by Dr. Suman Lata, Assistant Professor in 2012.
More than 50 research papers are published by DBT Students / faculty members in National/International journals and presented in conferences in past three years.
