Does my daughter have to be in a Girl Scout troop to attend day camp?

No --Some girls love being part of a troop, some want to travel the world, some only take part in programs and activities--and some just want to go to camp.  But every camper must register as a Girl Scout before attending camp (except the volunteer sons & tagalongs).

What is the refund policy?

TBD

What should my camper wear to camp?

Please keep in mind we live in the PNW.  Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and bandanna in their unit color.  They will be required to wear this shirt and bandanna every day to camp.  Shorts are typically worn in late July.  Campers are encouraged to bring a sweatshirt or light jacket.  Closed toe shoes are required anywhere at camp, to include their beach shoes.  (No sandals, or flip flops. Crock styles will be ok at the beach only, but they must have and use a strap across the back)  Campers are also encouraged to apply sunscreen and bug spray prior to camp daily.

Is your camp nut free?

Our camp try's to be as nut and latex free as possible, however occasionally someone that did not register the camper(for example, babysitter) makes their lunch and will  send Nutella, PB&J, or granola bar with nuts.  We will do our best to isolate the item and replace their lunch.  The camp nurse and the unit adults of the campers with the allergy will immediately be notified, and the camper with the allergy will be monitored and all necessary  precautions will be taken, as each case is different.

Can my child be in the same unit with a friend?

During the registration process you will be asked if your child would like to list a "Buddy".   The friend must also list them as a "Buddy".   Please keep in mind, buddy placement is not guaranteed.  We generally place campers in units with other campers all entering the same grade.  Our goal is to encourage campers to "make new friends, but keep the old".

What is your health and COVID policy?

Girl Scouts of Western Washington follows the same vaccination requirements as the public schools.   We also follow the same COVID related recommendations from King County and the state of Washington.

Can my family stay at camp the week of

Can I (and my family) camp at Dash Point State Park Campground ?

Yes! Either by RV / Trailer or Tent.  There are additional costs; Please contact  the parks directly!

*We actually have some families that do this and they volunteer at the beginning and end of camp to help us set up and break down every day.  If this is something that interests you or if you want to volunteer in a different capacity, a registration will still be required, as all adults volunteering at camp have to be background checked. Even if you are only at camp for a short time.

The only time unregistered adults are allowed on site is for pick up, drop off or special guests that are always escorted.

The first day you may drop off your scout but after that morning,  we ask you stay in your cars to keep this process flowing smoothly.
