Nevada STEAM Advocacy Alliance

About the NSAA

We are an alliance of STEAM-based student organizations in Nevada that look to advocate for the accessibility and prioritization of STEAM for youth within Nevada. We were formed at the end of 2023, and are currently seeking new members to add!

Our goal is to make STEAM prioritized and accessible in Nevada, for students, by students' actions!

Goals

Some of our goals include:

Start and Promote STEAM Programs for Youth
Run STEAM events within Community Centers
Expand Our Organization to Include Other STEAM Youth Groups (FIRST Teams, Girls Who Code Clubs, National Art Society Clubs, and more!)
Make FIRST in Nevada a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO)
Provide Students with Credits for their Hours Dedicated to STEAM Organizations

How to Join

The NSAA has little to no requirements to join! Our only requirement is that the group joining must be a middle to high school (or middle to high school-aged) STEAM-based organization in Nevada (competitive or non-competitive!). To maintain membership, all partners have to do is dedicate their time and energy to the NSAA throughout the year(s).

If members require documentation that proves that they are part of the organization and have contributed to the NSAA, please let us know and we will provide you with it!

Current Members

Founding Team

The founding team of the NSAA is FRC Team 8717, Cyber Vipers. After joining the Robotics STEM Advocacy Alliance's efforts to advocate for STEM education on a national level and seeing the success that had, our team was motivated and inspired to push for accessible and prioritized STEAM education and organizations. We had initially strengthened our push for STEAM within our own school, but there was no reason to stop there. Recognizing the disparity of access to STEAM-based learning and activities and the lack of efforts to change this in Nevada, we formed the NSAA to gather like-minded teams and organizations with the goal of putting STEAM at the forefront.
