Our FRC Team 8717, Cyber Vipers, is from Desert Oasis High School, Las Vegas, Nevada. Since we started in 2021, we have made huge strides in our team’s and individuals’ progress and in our community! Our team has grown to a total of 11 specialized sub-teams to account for our growth in versatility and skill from the past years. In our community, we've had an immense impact, from volunteering for 20 FIRST events to advocating for STEAM classes in our school.

When we meet, we work together to help develop STEAM skills while inspiring and encouraging others to do the same. We also invite diversity in our genders and identities and within our team’s 21 different ethnicities. Through Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition, we help create a community that is full of friends always willing to help one another.

2024-2025

• Ran 4 Campus Cleanups

• Organized 7 fundraising events

• Hosted 1 FLL Events, Volunteered at 5 FLL events, and Volunteered at 4 FTC events

• Ran a booth at our school's fall festival

• Hosted the 2024 Fall Conference and showcased presentations on outreach, marketing, FRC scouting, and Rookie Team Basics

• Ran 1 food drive with our school's AVID and NHS programs.

• Collaborated with our school's news and media team

• Donated the Balikbayan Bots a drive station to use

• Met online with FRC team 2412 and other FIRST teams to grow NSAA and start grassroots efforts

• Met online with The Monochromats and shared resources and collaborated on fundraising and how to reach out to sponsors.

2022-2023 

• Showcased our robot at the Science and Technology Festival to let young students see an FRC robot first-hand

• Guided Freshmen through Orientation, showed the potential of STEAM through our robot

• Fundraised at our school's tailgate, fostering the returning community of our school post-pandemic 

• Volunteered at 6 FLL Events, Hosted 1 Event, and Ran 1 Event 

• Hosted a Double FLL Qualifier with 50+ teams with a majority of our team volunteering for it

• Presented Workshops for Public Speaking and Creating a Scouting App

• Sang the national anthem at an FLL Championship

• Assisted the Theater Program by 3-D printing functional gears for our school's musical

• Assisted Track and Field to clean up their equipment by making custom tools

• Assisted AP Physics by fixing their toy cars using 3-D printed axles
