HISTORY OF THE CSU VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS DEPARTMENT

In September of 1969, Clayton Junior College opened its doors to students of the metro Atlanta area. In its first years CJC offered two programs within the Associates of Arts Degree; the 2-year college transfer Associates Degree and the 2-year career Associates Degree. The College of Arts & Sciences and the Department of Visual & Performing Arts were not established until much later in CSU's history, but some of the current programs were offered such as Music & Theater.
