This project is about the how social media has evolved throughout the years and the different ways it has impact each generation and the different types of stats of each demographic.
I agree with my results since I'm a busy person and don't really have all the time to be scrolling and checking my apps like that, since I'm either at work or trying to do my schoolwork and just focusing on my personal life, my average time on social media is about 2 hours max, with both Instagram and snapchat. These apps are both just dead really and don't really satisfy me that much which could be also why I don't really go on them.
This image from Pew Research center relates to me because these are the social media apps that I use the most, and it makes sense that younger people use it, but seeing the older people use it, is also something interesting that I find as someone who is young but relatively social apps like these are targeted towards an younger audience. But once again nothing is wrong with older people using apps like these as they can do whatever they want, and it just sparks me to what their feed would look like and what is their main purpose of using it is, not just with these apps but all different kinds of social apps.
The impact if social media has to have a balance with good and bad, so does the rest of the world and this isn't any different then social media as almost everyone has some type of social media that everything is different for them, but some of the good that comes from the impact of social media could be discovering new things that they might like and could grow from that, also meeting new people could also be something good like a relationship that people could not have in person, which they can create online, and if they have something they're interested in they could learn more about it through the help of social media and maybe find a group that they can talk about it with. But with the balance there is also the bad things that comes along with it like some of the content and posts that come along with it could be based towards one side or one party which could not always be something good for someone who is young and maybe there could be false advertisement or information. But overall no matter what the impact of soical media will continue to change.
What I learned about this project is the fact that the social media apps that I thought everyone used wasn't the most widely used among Americans, which to me would be like Instagram, TikTok, and other streaming platforms but it was actually YouTube then Facebook, and I was surprised but not really but also that the impact of social media will continue to change as more people join and bring different things to it.
