For this assignment, we had to reflect our skills from the training simulators to see what we have learned and what we can do with the different applications.
I have been using word ever since elementary, and I basically grew up on the fact that almost all my assignments were on word which to me was something that was normal, after all that I thought I knew all the functions of word when coming to this computer class, but I was completely wrong.
Templates: Creating and using templates for consistent document types (resumes, letters).
Document Structure: Building Tables of Contents (TOC), bookmarks and hyperlinks.
Page Layout: Margins, orientation, page breaks, headers, footers, page numbers, watermarks.
I didn't really use powerpoint in Elementary or Middle School but I did when I started high school and started to use email and outlook, but I knew some of it because it is similar to google slides, only powerpoint looks more professionals and the tools for me personally were more harder to find and use. Which is why I tried to avoid it because of how sophisticated it looked but as many of my work involved me doing it on powerpoint I got familiar but never knew it entirely.
Data Visualization: Creating clear charts (bar, pie, line), graphs, and infographics to simplify data.
Multimedia: Embedding and linking media, using 3D models, and adding audio/video.
Presenter Features: Utilizing speaker notes, presenter view and live subtitles/translation.
Just like powerpoint I didn't really use it, and not even in high school, and I had no idea about it's excistence until I was in my CSIT class, that's when I was first introduced to it and the different functions and tools it has but it was way more harder to learn it compared to powerpoint, but now I know how to make data charts and graphs.
Formulas & Functions: SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, IF, COUNTIF, SUMIF, INDEX/MATCH.
Formatting: Cell/text colors, number formats (currency, date), conditional formatting (rules, data bars)
Data Visualization: Creating basic charts (pie, bar, line) and formatting them.
I have definitely learned so much from these apps with the help of this class, and me thinking that I could not have ever needed them but as I go through college and school, I know I will have to use these apps more, but just learning the different tools and features they have is so useful and makes my work look professional and looks like I know what to do.
