Journey of TGBS from 2015 onwards.The formation of TGBS was conducted based on a lift-and-shift manner whereby the respective ICT, Group HR, Group Finance and Group Procurement divisions together with the administrative support team nationwide within TNB conformed its shared service operations with a single leadership and governance framework under the flagship of TGBS. During the initial stages of TNB’s transformation, each division operating completely in silos were required to make changes to its corporate structure.
The people in these divisions were divided into 3 groups; Center of Expertise, Business Partners and Shared Service Center. The idea was to stabilize the performance of these groups within its division before moving to the next phase. The next phase was to perform convergence between these shared services under a single leadership. The transition of these shared services from their existing divisions into TGBS were done from April 2018 – September 2018 and the migration of the people to the new office were done from December 2018 – early July 2019.
