Quarter 3 Shoutouts

What is your class working on in Quarter 4?

Algebra 2- Students will learn two more standards for the remainder of the year with extra topics (not as standards) that will prepare them for Precalculus next year. Each week students will have two video lessons and assignments with office hours on Wednesday (1-3pm) and Friday (12-2pm).

Precalc- We'll focus on preparing for AP Calculus next year. We will finish rational equations, move into limits, and finish with sequences and series.

Chemistry- We will focus on 3-4 content standards and provide students an opportunity to make up missing standards (both content and literacy) until the end of the school year.

AP Chemistry-In AP chemistry, once we complete the assessment on equilibrium, we will focus our attention on free response questions and the AP chemistry exam on May 14th.

English (Czaia and Miller)- Students will continue their multi-genre research projects on a topic of their choosing. In addition, they will celebrate National Poetry Month (April) by choosing a poem of their choice and reciting it in a Flipgrid video as well as sharing why that poem is important to them.

US History AP- Please have your student attend our Zoom classes EVERY TUESDAY at 11:00am. If it is not possible for your student to attend, I will post a video of the class on my Schoology page. Students will have an assignment every day listed on Schoology and they will turn in 1-2 of them each week. The AP U.S. History exam will be at 1pm on Friday, May 15th. Students will take the AP test online from their homes. We will review for three weeks before the test and then end the year with the Vietnam War.

US History- Please have your student attend our Zoom classes EVERY FRIDAY at 11:00am. If it is not possible for your student to attend, I will post a video of the class on my Schoology page. Students will have an assignment every day listed on Schoology and they will turn in 1-2 of them each week. The testing dates for Quarter 4 are Wednesday, April 29th and Wednesday, May 13th where students must submit a FlipGrid by 11:59pm on those dates. The topics to be covered are: WWI, the 1920s, the Great Depression, WWII, the 1950s, The Civil Rights Movement and Rights Revolution, and we will end with the Vietnam War.

Religion- Students will be reading “Our America” for the final unit of the year. There will be three weeks of reading (1 week per section of the book) and then one week of writing a “book review” as a summative assessment worth 2 standards.

Spanish AP- Students will complete activities to review and practice for the AP exam on May 14th. After the exam, we will consider reading great literature.

Heritage Spanish- Students will complete a project on endangered animals. Assessments for Quarter 4 include a presentation and written report about their chosen animal as well as independent reading.

Spanish 2- Students have a variety of weekly assignments. Assessments for quarter 4 include a speaking assessment where students must record themselves presenting for 1 minute and a writing assessment where students respond to their experience watching a movie in Spanish.
