Good afternoon everyone, My name is Mahmood sani Shaaban and I'm here to present you a pring issue that affects many lives drug abuse.

Drug abuse is a problem that doesn't discriminate touching all works of life for me it's not just a personal battle but a social one too it's crucial to understand that drug abuse is often a cry for help a result of deeper issues like stress depression or even trauma did you know that almost half of Nigeria's youth my age and adove are into drug abuse.

Let's take a moment to consider how drug abuse particularly impacts our youth our young people in the prime of their lives a time for learnning growing discovering who they are or what they want to be now.

what's drug abuse i know the first thing that comes to your mind is people smoking drinking and yes it's true but unfortunately that's not the only part of drug abuse a person taking two to four tablets of painkiller or pad or any medicine by overdosing without the doct without the doctor's presciption in order pleasurable effects or to make the body feel good or better after being sick is also part of drug abuse however drug abuse can drill this crucial period it can hinder academic performace making it tough to keep up with studies it can also lead to risky behaviors resulting in accidents or illegal.

Activities it can spr relationships with friends families and families leaving the young person feeling isolated furthermore i would like to say drug abuse can have a longterm consequence resulting in including mental health disorder and anx anxiety and it can also lead to addiction a battle that can last a lifetime allow me please to tell you a story an old friend of mine invited me to a party he picked me up from my house we got to the party the moment he opened the door what i saw in my own two eyes left me in shock i saw children my age smoking dancing drinking enjoying themselves but to me actually they just ru their lives so i got in i sat down on the couch my friend left me for like 3 minutes he came back with two of his friends offering me a smoke and a drink in a cup but i said no thank you cruz i konow if i start that temptation would definitely come back to onto me.

So few minutes later i called my friend to pick me up cruz place was not for me it was not meant for me there's a saying that goes like this actually it's my mom that used to say to me but i wish she was here to see me here today on this stage but unfortunately she's not due to some health.

Buenas tardes a todos, Mi nombre es Mahmood sani Shaaban y estoy aquí para presentarles un problema actual que afecta a muchas vidas el abuso de drogas.

El abuso de drogas es un problema que no discrimina en todos los ámbitos de la vida. Para mí no es solo una batalla personal sino también social. Es crucial comprender que el abuso de drogas es a menudo un grito de ayuda como resultado de problemas más profundos como el estrés, la depresión o  incluso trauma ¿sabías que casi la mitad de los jóvenes nigerianos de mi edad y más abusan de las drogas?

Tomémonos un momento para considerar cómo el abuso de drogas afecta particularmente a nuestra juventud, nuestros jóvenes en la flor de sus vidas, un momento para aprender, crecer, descubrir quiénes son o qué quieren ser ahora.

Qué es el abuso de drogas, sé lo primero que se les ocurre.  La mente son las personas que fuman y beben y sí, es cierto, pero desafortunadamente esa no es la única parte del abuso de drogas: una persona que toma de dos a cuatro pastillas de analgésico o toalla sanitaria o cualquier medicamento por sobredosis sin el médico y sin la receta del médico para lograr efectos placenteros o para hacer que el  sentirse bien o mejor después de estar enfermo también es parte del abuso de drogas, sin embargo, el abuso de drogas puede afectar este período crucial, puede obstaculizar el rendimiento académico, dificultando mantenerse al día con los estudios, también puede conducir a comportamientos riesgosos que resultan en accidentes o ilegales.

Actividades que pueden estimular las relaciones con amigos, familias y familias, dejando al joven sintiéndose aislado. Además, me gustaría decir que el abuso de drogas puede tener consecuencias a largo plazo, lo que incluye trastornos de salud mental y ansiedad, y también puede conducir a la adicción, una batalla que puede durar.  toda una vida permítanme por favor contarles una historia un viejo amigo mío me invitó a una fiesta me recogió en mi casa llegamos a la fiesta en el momento en que abrió la puerta lo que vi en mis propios ojos me dejó en shock  Vi niños de mi edad fumando, bailando, bebiendo, divirtiéndose, pero para mí, en realidad, simplemente arruinan sus vidas, así que entré, me senté en el sofá, mi amigo me dejó durante unos 3 minutos, regresó con dos de sus amigos ofreciéndome fumar y  un trago en una taza pero dije que no, gracias cruz. Sé que si empiezo a sentir esa tentación definitivamente volvería a mí.

 Así que unos minutos después llamé a mi amigo para que me recogiera. El lugar de la cruz no era para mí, no era para mí. Hay un dicho que dice así. En realidad, era mi mamá la que solía decirme, pero desearía que ella estuviera aquí para verme.  aquí hoy en este escenario pero lamentablemente no se encuentra debido a problemas de salud.
