Week 5 - Soundscape (1 of 2)
Week 5 - Soundscape (1 of 2)
For this week's assignment, I had two ideas for a possible soundscape. The first idea is that I would visit a nearby bird sanctuary and record all the birds there. Depending on the day, there are usually about 5-10 birds that are out and available for the public to interact with, so I thought that would give me enough variety of sound clips. The birds are mainly parrots that love to talk and interact with people, so I think that would be recognizable in an audio format as well. The second idea was to record walking down to my local farmer's market. My street has a lot of interesting sounds and the market itself has a great vibe and energy to it, including multiple live music performances so I thought this idea would come across in audio form as well. I think I am going to begin with recording at the bird sanctuary ( I am going to do the actual recording this weekend when I have free time), but if the birds don't feel very chatty on the day I go, I will try out the farmer's market instead. Below are the soundscapes for each idea, which I created in XD. They both contain a color coded key for the different sound clips that I am planning to record, as well as a timeline with the order and duration of the clips. I organized them in a similar fashion as the timeline in Premiere Pro. At this point I am aiming for a length of one minute so the soundscapes don't get too monotonous, but may alter the time once I have collected all my project assets.
