Concept #1

My initial concept was to continue with the Barbie theme from the Mid Term Project.  This time, my idea was to have the Barbies be news anchors reporting on a breaking story in which a giant monster is terrorizing the city.  I was going to have my cat act as the monster and create a mini city for him to walk around in.  I was also thinking about adding effects like fire and smoke, and using green screen to create the news broadcast.  I ultimately decided to not use this idea because I felt that I could come up with something more interesting, and I wasn't sure if my cat would actually want to participate in this project. 

Concept #2

This concept was to create a kind of "Patient Zero" type of film.  My husband is a scientist and I wanted to film him conducting an "experiment" in his lab at work.  However, this idea ended before it even began because we could not obtain permission from his company to film.

Concept #3

For this concept, I decided I wanted to get a little weird.  I was inspired by Meow Wolf's "Omega Mart" instillation in Las Vegas.  The concept for their work is you enter into what at first glance looks like a normal supermarket, but the longer you are there and the more you look around things become very bizarre.  I used this idea as a starting off point to create a wellness resort that has a similar vibe.  It starts out like any other promotional video for this type of business, but quickly gets more and more absurd and surreal.  I have decided to use this concept for my final project because I feel like my personal style is sort of evolving from "cute and kitschy" to something more weird and makes you sort of question your reality.  I will link a Meow Wolf video below to demonstrate the kind of feel I am going for. 

Improvements I am planning on incorporating in this project are to have smoother and more artistic transitions between cuts, and better framing of shots.  I am also hoping the effects I am planning turn out well to enhance the video.  My goal is to have a polished, professional looking final product that I will be able to include in my portfolio, while also exploring the evolution of my personal style.
