Homework 2
Unity 3D and Vuforia
Unity 3D and Vuforia
For my model I used a cube model and for my texture I made a material light red color layer with 2 images that came with the Vuforia package.
One of the uses of this technology in education. When a child has cards of historical figures, then they an animation talking about who they are and f historical facts about them. Another example if this can be having flip-able study cards, where you have a word on a card and if you point the card to the AR camera, it will display the definition of keywords about that card.
Another uses for the tech would have to be design & modeling. Instead of having to create a model out of foam or plaster, they can use 3D models to see how their creation would look in the real world. This would help the creator see how their final product might look like and be able to easily make changes quickly and cheaply. This would best be utilized using AR glasses.
This can also be used for tourism. Instead of getting a tour guide to show people around the city, they can use their phone or VR glasses to show them around the city, guide them around and tell them facts. This can also be used in a museum as well since that's where you would want a tour guide and be educated the most. This would be a great use of the sound features in AR.
Like with the coloring demo in class, this can be used just for fun and entertainment purposes like making a 3D card game that comes to life when you use the AR feature. With the use of Vuforia, this was very easily done and wasn't too complex since they handle most of the work. The limitation of this might be getting 3D models and doing animation since I am not much of an artist. Models would also take the longest when making something with VR since I don't know how to use Blender.
