Random Blurbs - There artifacts need to be de-duplicated (made unique) and edited into the other pages of this website.

We are learning and, or, deepening our machine learning knowledge as we both learn from, and mentor our colleagues within our CppMSG group.

Do you like sharing your knowledge or refining it by helping others?

!! Mentors Needed !! We'll do what we can to make your contribution to our group fulfilling for you. Please contact Grant Rostig for admission to our events even if a meeting is already at capacity. Our mentors are the lifeblood of the CppMSG approach to learning.

We are serious learners and mentors, moving forward systematically. We show dedication to self study, keeping up with the group, and attending meetings.

In addition to being programmers, all members are very comfortable with mathematics such as high school or college level Geometry, Algebra and Calculus.

All members know, or are willing to learn some linear algebra and some lesser probability and statistics. We are also willing to upgrade our math skills (as may be needed) in Geometry, Algebra, and Calculus using college level textbooks.

Come join us if you want learn how to design and code machine learning applications.

We'll be using our using our CppMSG methodology: study at home and ask questions during the meetings.

This will be a systematic approach, so if you are interested join us now before it becomes difficult to catch up. The next starting point will likely be a year from now or longer.

We only do Q&A, no lectures. Please do not send our your large code project. You can ask a question during the meeting. You can use a simple example program to illustrate your C++ question. The simple example can be pasted into the comment section of a meetup event. We do not provide major code reviews, nor do we provide anything but trivial design or analysis of code in the c++ meetup. We do only c++ language questions. You could hire someone from the group to deal with specific projects, but complex problem domains are outside the scope of the c++ meetup.

To get our study started this will be our organizational meeting:

++++++++++++++++++++++++

When studying any field with practical use in mind, it is crucial to get the instructional material correct.

Another key is to get to know your collaborating colleagues.

We'll do both and plot our course through the still fluid landscape of machine learning.

We'll decide on which:

• books to use,

• on-line courses to attend

• software to use for learning

• software to target for practical use

6:30PM - Networking and setting up each of our computers.

7:00PM - Formal start of meeting.

This meeting will be productive and interesting to those that are serious about rigorously studying machine learning.

We are growing and or deepening our machine learning knowledge and insights as we both learn from and mentor our colleague members.

In addition to already being experienced programmers, all members are very comfortable with mathematics such as high school or college level geometry, trigonometry, algebra, and calculus.

All members know, or are willing to learn some linear algebra and some small amount of probability and statistics. We are also willing to upgrade your math skills (as may be needed) using college level textbooks.

Please eat before attending since no food will be served.

If you can host this meeting at a quiet location that has good wifi, tables for laptop use, and maybe even free parking, please let Grant Rostig (organizer) know.

Please change your RSVP to NO if you can't attend, and do so before the meeting, even if only by a few minues. ;) That will make it easier to "take attendance".
