Library of Things - No longer checking board games
We're no longer going to check board games for missing pieces. Just check them in like a normal item. If it has a hold, print out the slip, tape it to the bag, and put it on the LoT holds shelf (alphabetical by patron, please).
There's a new insert that will go into board games that says "to let us know if it was unplayable due to missing pieces and we can put them on hold for the game for the future"
Important task - put these inserts into any board game you check in, if it doesn't already have one. They're on the desk above returned Library of Things.
Taking Large Bills:
Patrons may pay will bills larger than $20.00 if they are paying in exact change for a membership. Meaning, we will take a $100 bill if they’re paying for a $120 membership. We will NOT take a $100 bill if they’re paying for a $90 membership. As long as you don’t need to make any change, we’ll take a $50 or $100 bill.
If they are paying with a bill larger than $20.00, you must use the counterfeit detection pen on the bill. Draw a line on the bill with the pen. If it turns yellow – it’s good! If it’s black, hand it back! These pens are at the welcome desk.
Stretching is a part of your daily tasks.
Stretch after emptying 2 bins
While doing the stretches remember to take a few breaths, breathing helps to relax the muscles and the mind.

Checking out stuff for someone that is not the person in front of you: They need to have the other person’s library card, a photo of it or the number and PIN. That’s it, that’s the only way.
On Shelf Holds (March/2025):
We can no longer sort the holds to pull list in a nice way to print it for volunteers. Please log into an iPad with the bookdrop login and get it set up for the volunteer. They can select the area they want to pull at the top and sort by call number. If you are unfamiliar with using the iPad for holds, see Kevin, Lindsay, or myself and we can walk you through it.
