"Listening to students’ voices and acting upon their feedback is central to improving teaching and the student learning experience."
– Gibbs & Simpson (2004), Conditions Under Which Assessment Supports Learning
This page features a collection of student evaluations and comments gathered over the course of my teaching career. These reflections provide meaningful insights into the learning experience from the students’ point of view, highlighting both strengths and areas where I can further improve. I consider student feedback a vital part of my reflective teaching practice, helping me to continually refine the effectiveness, clarity, and engagement of my instructional approach.

Hi sir
I hope you are well.
Just wanted you to know that the students had no issues and all the comments are positive.
One person wanted to know if we are getting feedback on the coursework soon.
Some of the other remarks were great lecturer and they love how the course is being conducted.
So overall all is well.
BMET 3004: Metrology and Regulatory Standard (via email)
Dear Dr. Mahuvava,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing on behalf of a number of students regarding the upcoming assignment for BMET 3004. The assignment was introduced rather late in the term and was only briefly mentioned during one class session, which limited our ability to plan and begin working on it in a timely manner. Additionally, the detailed guidelines were only shared during the study week, further compressing the time available for completion.
The current deadline of May 6th falls immediately after final exams for many students, including an exam on May 5th, making it difficult to dedicate sufficient time to the assignment. Some students also have exams scheduled on May 9th. Furthermore, a significant portion of the class is currently engaged in their final year projects, which are highly demanding. A few students even have exams scheduled after their project submission deadlines.
Given these overlapping academic commitments and the limited timeframe, we kindly request that the assignment be reconsidered. Instead of requiring its completion, we propose that the coursework assignments already completed throughout the semester be used to account for the missing percentage of the final grade. This adjustment would ensure that students are fairly assessed without compromising their performance in other critical areas.
We appreciate your time and consideration and would be grateful for your support in this matter. Please let us know if further discussion is needed.
Best regards,
