Our dog Alby, had a ruptured ACL and we needed TPLO surgery. Despite following all the vets instructions and recommendations Alby was not healing. He was on painkillers but still unable to weight bear.
After each visit his mobility increased and after 3 visits he was back to being the fun filled, energetic dog we love.
- Alby, catahoula cross
Our Pip was in severe pain.
The vet gave her pain relief which helped but we were told it was a probable degenerative disease and would need an MRI scan and possibly surgery.
I took Pip to see Margaret instead. She was so respectful of her. She let Pip move around the room until she felt safe and settled.
After three sessions Pip is back to her happy, pain-free self and doing really well.
- Pip, long-haired jack russell

Here you'll find answers to common questions I get asked by clients.
How many sessions will my dog need?
Every dog — and every situation — is different, so the number of sessions varies depending on your dog and what they’re working with. Generally, up to four sessions often allows enough time to notice meaningful changes.
Sessions are always guided by your dog’s comfort and responses. We’ll regularly check in about how things are going and what feels most appropriate for both you and your dog.
I'm not sure if Contact CARE can help my dog's issues. Is there any risk that trying a session could make things worse?
Contact CARE is gentle and guided by your dog’s responses. If it isn’t able to directly address the issue you’re seeking help with, there is no risk of harm. The most common outcome is that your dog feels more relaxed and at ease.
Do I need to muzzle my dog?
If your dog has a history of biting or you believe they may bite, then yes — a muzzle is required for everyone’s safety.
We can discuss this beforehand to make sure your dog is as comfortable as possible.
Can I drop my dog off to you while I run an errand?
No. Dogs are social animals and generally feel safer when a familiar person is nearby, especially in a new environment.
Sessions are more effective when you stay with your dog, as your presence helps them feel secure and supported.
My dog is a rescue and extremely shy of people, can you still help them?
In some cases, yes. For very shy or sensitive rescue dogs, a home visit may be more appropriate.
Our priority is your dog’s comfort. If that means working with them in their favourite spot at home, in the car, or even sitting on your lap, we’ll meet them where they feel safest.
Can I feed my dogs treats during the session so that they behave?
It’s usually best to let your dog show up however they need to. If they need time to move around, sniff, or settle into the space first, that’s completely okay.
Rather than using treats to manage behaviour, we allow your dog to set the pace. This helps us work with their natural responses rather than distracting from them.
Can you stop my dog barking?
Different breeds have different tendencies, and some dogs naturally bark more than others.
In some cases, barking may be related to anxiety, insecurity, or a need to protect or guard. These situations often benefit from one-to-one training and support for both the dog and their human, rather than bodywork alone.
Can you stop my dog from having aggressive behaviour?
This depends very much on the underlying cause of the behaviour.
Contact CARE cannot change aggression that is rooted in a dog’s genetics, breed traits, or lack of training. However, if aggressive behaviour developed after a frightening or painful experience, gentle bodywork may help support your dog’s nervous system alongside appropriate training or behavioural support.
