Flowback
Water Treatment
Pennsylvania
First, the flow-back water was transported by trucks at the treatment location...
...and stored into frac tanks 50-80m3 each.
The water to be treated looks like this and contains a cocktail of chemicals coming from the hydraulic fracking process itself and from the formation as well.
The treatment process involved mixing tanks,
a water treatment chemicals,
and a lot of pilot testing.
The result was crystal clear water and precipitated solids...
...and after further dry waste compacting the waste volume was greatly reduced.
