Classroom activities:

1. Brainstorm activity

students will work in groups of 3 and share their idea of what is rational numbers

2. Video

students will:

• divide a paper in their notebook into 2 columns and then labelling as Give One and Get One.
• watch the video and note down 4-5 key information into the Give One column
• share with at least 4 other students what they noted down in the Give One column and note down the others information in the Get One column.
• then join groups of 3 and create a foldable to show the order of operation with integers

2. A. Quick smart

• students will work in pairs
• Each player rolls the plus/minus die and the regular die. This is the first number in their equation (e.g., if a player rolls a + and 3, their first number is positive 3). The same player rolls the two die again. This is the their second number (e.g. -2), then roll the operations dice.
• the other student write down the expression and do the operation to find the answer quickly and correctly
• Players take turns

students will use laptops to access to online calculators and find the answer for each expression in the worksheet
