- Today I will figure out the rule for subtraction of integers with and without the same sign
- So that I can do the subtraction positive integers, negative integers, one positive and one negative integer
- I know I got it when:
- use the kit of positive and negative sign
- do the subtracting integers maze
- use laptops, access the website and play the game of integer addition

- students work in groups of 3 to complete the puzzle with the right addition expressions to the their answer
- teacher moves around and check student`s answer

- work in pairs
- use the kit of positive and negative signs to find the answer for posted questions
- draw number lines on their note book and then use the curve arrows to show the direction and how many unit from the starting point they need to move by applying the rule of subtracting a number that can be rewrite by adding the opposite sign of the number and then follow the rules of Addition that they learnt in the last lesson.
- use the number line to find the answer
- figure out the rule of subtraction for each case
- discuss to the whole class what they had for the rules
- note down the rules of subtraction in their note books.
Teacher.
- check students answer for the challenge of using the kit to figure out the rules of subtraction (if there are students who attempted to find out the rule)
- use the kit and number line to find out the answer for some examples.
- give time for students to work in pairs and figure out the rule
- go around and help if necessary
- ask students to explain How they get the rules

- students will use laptops or computers in the computer room to access to the Maths game where they have to click on the subtraction expressions on the fruit that matches the number line.
- students can attempt in different modes (timing or without timing) and speed to check how quickly and correctly response they are.
