Under the umbrella theme “Collective Fitness”, MUSTAHVEKEYS proposes to make self-observation a creative concept. Guided by artists and experts, participants will create artworks that explore the idea of “self”. A series of three workshops shall be organized, focusing on the following aspects of art creation – conceptualization, technique, and display. Participants will get to know the works of different artists, try out various art techniques, and come to understand the importance of art display and preservation.
Percy So is an award-winning paper and book artist. She has provided numerous papercutting and bookbinding workshops for universities, institutions, and corporates in Hong Kong and Macao. Participants will learn papercutting techniques in this workshop by observing her demonstrations and hands-on practices.
Students who have participated in the "Self-Portrait Workshop" can use their self-portraits as blueprints for the further creation of unique and personal artworks. Students who have yet to take part in the self-portrait workshop are welcome to register.
Participants will learn:
Basic papercutting techniques;
Positive and negative space and other related concepts in art;
The development and various facets of papercutting art.

MUSTHAVEKEYS, a Hong Kong-based multidisciplinary curatorial studio, serves to build the KEYS that connect the creative minds with the community- KEYS in the form of ground-breaking art and cultural initiatives that generate meaningful exchanges among artists, designers, and community partners; KEYS forged with partners to champion multidisciplinary collaborations from concept to final creation; and KEYS for the public to open doors to unconventional cultural engagements and art appreciation.
In 2020 and 2021, MUSTHAVEKEYS curated the two editions of “Up Close – Hollywood Road”, a first-of-its-kind exhibition that took contemporary art into the everyday environment and operation of local antique shops, creating dialogues between past and present, arts and traditional crafts.
