Science behind the poem:
The Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy containing an estimated 100 to 400 billion stars. It formed over 13 billion years ago from colliding gas clouds and smaller galaxies, settling into a flat, spinning disk with a supermassive black hole (Sagittarius A*) at its center that contains the mass of about 4 million Suns. Our solar system sits about 26,000 light-years from the center on a minor spiral arm called the Orion Arm.
Looking Down
I rise beyond my heartbeat
Past rooftops, clouds, and stars.
The farther I drift,
The smaller my worries become.
Galaxies bloom like scattered sparks,
And silence stretches farther than light.
Yet at the edge of all I can see,
One truth still follows me:
A single act of kindness,
One voice, one hand held tight.
Even in an endless universe,
Love is what shines the brightest.
One Thing I Hope You Notice
I hope you notice that changing your perspective can help you regulate stress.
