Cymatics (from Greek: κῦμα “wave”) is the study of visible sound and vibration
I came across Cymatics some time ago and was fascinated with its practical example on how life came into form. What struck me was the suggestion that sound was responsible for the link between life and form and how they came together to manifest the expression of life. At this point I had a problem, not with the concept but in the way it was explained which didn’t make any sense. Perhaps it was my lack of understanding regarding what was being expressed or perhaps I did understand and it was they who lost the point. Let me explain. By the way, this is just the way I see cymatics, which I see as a metaphor for creation, and I hope it makes more sense than the explanation in the video. Nice video though!
So here’s my problem.
Sound is a phenomenon that is caused by the fact that we have an atmosphere which holds the air that we breathe. When a sound such as music occurs in air, it vibrates the air at the same frequencies of the music that is played. These frequencies in the air reach our ear drums and cause them to vibrate and then our ear system creates the electrical signals which represent the music and we hear the music in our brain.
Sound is the movement of air in our atmosphere, period! The sound that we hear is based on electrical impulses to our brain. Our atmosphere exists within our planet and sound is limited to that space and exists nowhere else unless we discover other planets with similar properties.
There is no sound outside of our atmosphere, it doesn’t exist in space which is the bulk of the universe and space on exists in consciousness. Sound is only relevant to the physical form in its response to physical phenomena. But sound isn’t the only thing that has vibration.
The Electromagnetic Spectrum
is a limitless ocean of waves from radio to gamma and in the form of light. Sound is not part of the Electromagnetic Spectrum but it does create waves that generate electrical signals. It is an electric universe and where there is electricity, there is magnetism. The form of energy that makes everything feel solid inside the mental dreamscape of reality.
Cymatics is a wonderful graphical and physical representation of what happens in this ocean of what maybe termed as primordial sound, the Electromagnetic Spectrum of Waves which can only be heard or seen by transducing its energy into a form we can experience. There is a small part of this spectrum that we can experience directly and that is visible light, the light that our eyes can register in the form of primary colours. Other frequencies of light waves effect us depending on the type of radiation it creates. There is suggestion that outside cosmic radiation constantly effects our consciousness. X rays can permanently damage us physically. The Electromagnetic Spectrum is light in all its variety of wavelengths which vibrates through the universe bringing particles into form in the same way as you see in the Cymatics demonstration. The waves collapse into particles through conscious observation i.e consciousness. Consciousness collapses the wave into a particles and particles are what is said to make up so called visible matter.
The major point to see is that this primal sound in all its forms has originated from the Primacy of Consciousness, the intelligence behind everything. We are consciousness expressing it-self through form.
I personally am not religious but it was stated in the Bible. “In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.” ‘The word’ was not sound but the universal vibration behind everything. Omnipresent, Omnipotent and Omniscient. This original vibration is the source of life and the creator of form. Consciousness.
Nevertheless it is highly evident through years of scientific research and my own personal experience that sound can have a dramatic effect on our biochemistry and mentality. Sound is available for all forms on our planet as an expressive gift especially for humans.
