Musical Talent Show

Procedure

1. Recap the last activity and have students log in to their Scratch accounts [ if they have one].

2. Present Video 1 and Video 2.

3. Share the Starter Project in the chat and allow students independent coding time to create a "Musical Talent Show" project in Scratch.

4. Check in with students as they complete their projects.

5. Students may choose to watch Add-on videos to learn how to enhance their project. [see below]

6. This lesson is not about "testing" students to see if they get a badge. This activity should be a positive, encouraging experience. Even if the student’s code doesn't quite do everything required, you can still support them in completing the code and earning a badge. The functionality some students build may differ from the code samples. That's OK, and those students can still earn the badge

7. Refer to the Solution Sheets to confirm students' coding is accurate.

8. Allow student(s) to share their screen and code with the class.

9. Discuss the activity and facilitate a brief discussion about what students learned and experienced.

• Question 3: What is something you found to be very fun or surprising?

• Question 4: What was something that was challenging that you later figured out?
