Students interact with professors on a daily basis and, ideally, benefit from their immense expertise and experience. Professors, on the other hand, have a hectic life outside of the classroom. Professors devote their time not only to planning for lectures, marking students, reviewing assignments, and mentoring students, but also to doing original study and contributing to the university and learning sector as a whole. Many academics and staff members are regularly interested with study and artistic ventures. In this context, research refers to the process through which we generate new knowledge; it is how we examine the universe around us and build on what the world already knows.
Professors are supposed to be constantly involved in science or artistic work that advances our understanding of the environment and our role in it. Professors and staff members are still very active behind the scenes, writing reports, essays, and books; performing experiments; planning exhibitions; conducting fieldwork; and a host of other tasks that advance understanding and lead to the general benefit of the society.
In an age where a wealth of information is readily available through the internet, teaching practice can result in a radical adaptation of the teacher's position, focusing less on knowledge sharing and more on how to utilize the knowledge. When students enroll in a class taught by a faculty member, they can be aware that their instruction is inspired by study and artistic work. Teaching and study are inextricably linked at every successful business school, complementing and abetting one another.
