TeenDating Violence

Teen dating violence, also called intimate relationship violence or intimate partner violence among adolescents or adolescent relationship abuse includes physical, psychological or sexual abuse; harassment; or stalking of any person ages 12 to 18 in the context of a past or present romantic or consensual relationship. It can take place in person or electronically, such as repeated texting or posting sexual pictures of a partner online without consent. Unhealthy relationships can start early and last a lifetime. Teens often think some behaviors, like teasing and name-calling, are a “normal” part of a relationship—but these behaviors can become abusive and develop into serious forms of violence. If you or a friend is experiencing dating violence please get help. Tell your family and or reach out to your school counselor. Below are websites and resources that can help.
