ENG 108
ENG 108 is a six-credit hour course designed to prepare students for college-level reading/writing tasks. It is important to note that ENG 108 does not provide college-level credit. Students who earn an A in ENG 108 receive College Reading & Writing Readiness (CRWR) and can enroll in college-level courses, such as ENG 121.
ENG 100/121
ENG 100/121 is an accelerated preparation course that allows you to complete college-level ENG 121 with an additional two-hour support course (ENG 100). Students who earn an A in ENG 108 receive College Reading & Writing Readiness (CRWR) after successful completion of this course.
ENG 121
ENG 121 is a three-credit hour college-level course known as English Composition I. Placement in ENG 121 requires departmental approval based on satisfactory completion of a reading/writing exam. If students select this option, they will be directed to complete the exam in the next section of the DSP questionnaire.
When registering for ENG 100/121, it is important to pay attention to the course section numbers. Students must ensure that the course section numbers for both ENG 100 and ENG 121 are the same. For example:
ENG 121-917: English Composition I (3 credit hours)
ENG - Course prefix
121 - Course number
-917 - Section number
ENG 100-917: English Composition Support (2 credit hours)
ENG - Course prefix
100 - Course number
-917 - Section number
Both classes must be in the student's Shopping Cart in order to successfully register for ENG 100/121.
