Step 5: Classroom-Level Behavior Management Strategies
Before considering specific interventions for the student, assess if any of the classroom-level behavior management strategies should be addressed. Creating effective classroom conditions can improve student performance, positively affect student learning outcomes, and reduce behavioral issues. More intensive and time-consuming interventions may be avoided or limited by improving baseline classroom practices. The four areas to be addressed include Effective Pacing of Activities, Appropriate Curriculum, Feedback & Reinforcement, and Effective Demands & Transitions.
