From spring 2023 to fall 2023, I was a part of the WSHU Public Radio team, initially serving as a news intern.
As a news intern, I produced, wrote and voiced news stories. These pieces were not only featured on the station's official website but were also broadcast for on-air listening across Long Island and Connecticut. Several of my articles have been republished through various media outlets, including Tu Prensa Local, WXXI 105.9 in Rochester, New York and WAER 88.3 in Syracuse, New York.
For my work on Trash Talkin’ , a multi-part story on waste and environmental justice on Long Island, our 13-member team won two awards: a Folio Award from the Fair Media Council and a Continuing Coverage Award from the Public Media Journalists Association.
In fall 2023, I joined the podcast team and contributed to the ideation and development of WSHU's third season of the climate change podcast, Higher Ground. This podcast has received awards and is financially supported by American Public Media.
