Saint Valentine

There are several Saints Valentine. This page concerns St Valentine of Rome. However, our knowledge of him is limited.

Valentine's Day is normally linked to this Valentine but, in fact, several saints Valentine are remembered on 14 February and the history is a little murky.

Some claim that Valentine's day stems from the Roman festival, Lupercalia. However, other than the coincidence of the dates, there is no link between the two.
