NOTE: Ruby Bridges is often said to be the first black child to enrol in a segregated school. In fact, three other students were enrolled in another school at the same time and earlier, in 1957, The Little Rock Nine had begun at Little Rock Central High School. Despite that, Ruby Bridges' story of faith is inspiring.
