Fabrication of Assistive Technology: Hardware
I created this seat wedge out of thick cardboard by measuring out the size and desired height for an individual to sit on, using a jigsaw to precisely cut the cardboard, adding reinforcements inside, hot glueing the pieces together, and adding wooden screws for extra strength. I made sure the cardboard folded where I wanted by scoring the inner layer, and cautiously bending it together. I then sealed the edges with water activated tape. The seat wedge can be used to assist individuals in adjusting their posture and giving them a boost if needed when seated, as well as being placed under a computer to help an individual with impaired wrist or fine motor mobility.
