Standard 8 - Collaborative Relationships – The competent teacher builds and maintains collaborative relationships to foster cognitive, linguistic, physical, and social and emotional development. The teacher parent relationship Is one of the most Important. A good relationship between parents and teachers means they both can team up to help the student with their school achievement. Again, the document below creates a positive relationship between the teacher and the student. Students see that the teacher Is trying to get to know how they learn. Student-teacher relationships are important in the short term because it creates a positive classroom environment. It also helps students develop self worth and improves student mental health. Creating these positive relationships may lower behavioral problems and promote academic success. Earning the students respect starts at day one. If you treat your students with respect, they will In turn treat you with respect.
