Student-teacher relationships are important in the short term because it creates a positive classroom environment. It also helps students develop self worth and improves student mental health. Creating these positive relationships may lower behavioral problems and promote academic success. Earning the students respect starts at day one. If you treat your students with respect, they will In turn treat you with respect.
