Artifact 1
This Is a lesson plan that I created In one of my classes at Trinity. It Is a project where students create a trench letter during the First World War. This assignment encouraged students to use their creativity when creating the letters. This artifact connects to the stadard by supporting critical and creative thinking. Students love assignments such as this one below. Students are able to learn about the life In the trenches while also getting to put a personal stamp on the assignment.
Artifact 2
This lesson plan below Is one of my favorite ones that I have ever created. The project address the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Students are asked to analyze different forms of media to draw a conclusion on why the conflict was prone to occur. This project gets the students thinking critically. They have to come make claims after all of the Information that has been presented to them. The end result Is the students have to create an article, video, or podcast arguing the three geographical and or natural resource challenges that make Russia feel it has to buffer countries between Russia and the “West”. What factor does Russia’s geography play? How does Ukraine fit into this? Think about the culture and proximity of the countries. Use the video, the article, and the podcast to formulate an argument. There is no specific length that the article must be as long as the student feels it has made a concise and clear argument. The podcast must be at least 10 minutes long. This lesson connects to the lesson by letting the students utilize strategies that support critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and continuous growth and learning.
