Throughout Jake’s grade school career, his father pushed him to play football, and other sports. If the team didn’t win, Jake was punished either in the literal sense, or by dealing with his father's sour, and often belittling moods. His father had a reputation in the small town; everyone knew he began to lose it after his injury, and they all knew he took the death of Macy as another excuse to drink again. Although he was unaware of it, the town's knowledge of this gave Jake some leniency. Jake would cut class, have an attitude, and get in fights (usually with the school bullies).
 

    In most of Jake’s verses, he will begin working at a young age to try and help out financially/to get out of the house, and away from his dad. Some of those jobs will include: Mechanics assistant, Line cook at a local diner. 

Being that Jake was a troubled youth, he did get in trouble with the law a few times growing up- this is what finally made Hank, the town sheriff take him under his wing. Hank had also gone to school with Jake’s parents, and knew how he had it at home. Oftentimes Jake would fight against Hank, but ultimately looked up to him as a father figure, and his inspiration for becoming a cop. 

As an adult he typically works as a police officer of high ranking. In other verses, he is a bartender, a bounty hunter, etc. 

Jake mostly keeps to himself when it comes to his personal life. He is very loyal, sometimes to a fault. There is definitely a temper underneath his cool exterior that sometimes gets the best of him. Jake can very easily find himself making friends when he allows himself to relax. Jake does not drink in excess in most of his verses, due to his experience with his father. He will have a beer with friends on occasion, but that is typically his limit 

Lycanthropy

The Vampire Diaries. Jake is born with the lycan curse, one that has to be triggered by ending the life of another. 

Being Human: Being a wolf wasn’t something Jake ever thought about; it was something he was born into. A pack with a long line of history. It wasn’t a surprise when it was time for him to rise up to lead the pack like his father, and his father’s father before him. Jake never wanted to be a leader, but he accepts his role with hesitancy. 

Hunter:

All his life, Jake knew there was something else out there- things that couldn’t be explained. 

The Last of Us; Fireflies/WLF:

When a fungus finds a way to mutate and take over humans, the government is quick to try and form ‘safe zones’. Naturally there are groups that rise up to fight the government (FEDRA). The Fireflies work constantly to find a cure, and maintain as much freedom as safely possible. When the Fireflies all but collapse, a new group, the WLF forms. Jake is a reformed Firefly, a high ranking scavenger/patrolman for the WLF (or wolves).
