Forren is an exiled mage who once belonged to the Order of Nine. He was sent to Bind Essala (Zaila) but later refused to do so and instead rescued her from a Stormcaster who was also sent in case he couldn't do it. He then raised her in a tower hidden in the forests of Daelis, pretending to be her grandfather. Forren was a well-respected sorcerer before this incident, although his meddling in wizardry made him somewhat unusual. He is very powerful and wise, but has a gentler side which causes him a lot of trouble.
