Brothrike is an experienced Commander who has been close to Fir her entire life, from before her training to her battles against Kapo. He is distantly related to the royal family, but not close enough to have a claim to the throne. Instead, he is the thane of Nels, a border fort along the Shield Mountains, though this is mostly in name only. His sister manages the fort most of the time, and her family lives there; he only visits occasionally. Brothrike is cold and fearless like most Commanders, and completely loyal to Fir.
