Vilnius Martynas Mazvydas Pregymnasium

Vilnius Martynas Mažvydas pregymnasium was established in 1998 as a secondary school, and since 2011 it has been functioning as a pregymnasium. In 1998 the school had 470 students, and in 2017 there were 1,745 students. This is one of the largest middle schools in Lithuania. The number of pupils is increasing every year, so we have to look for solutions that will ensure not only the quality of education (learning) but also modern, creative and innovative learning environment.

The school has all facilities for students with disabilities: it has the necessary equipment and we are able to include children with disabilities into normal school life and learning process.

The school constantly updates educational material base. The school operates a modern information center - a library, a successfully running career planning center.

At school students are taught several foreign languages: English, French, Russian and German. After finishing the primary school students have an opportunity to choose studies in a French class (according the Emile program), where some of the subjects (Biology, History, Music) are integrated together with the French language. Also, from the 2nd class it is a possibility to choose to study in the art class, where students have extra art lessons. Moreover, the primary education curriculum is integrated with ethnic culture.

Students can choose from a variety of extracurricular school activities such as fine arts, sports, dance clubs, choirs, ethnic culture, the club of debates and school radio, the European club or eTwinning club.

The school cooperates with a lot of social partners in the local community. Some of them are Pilaites gymnasium, the French cultural center, P. Vileišis pregymnasium, J.Basanavičius gymnasium. We also have international partners, such as Vineuil City College of France, Puńsk Darius and Girenas Lithuanian gymnasium in Poland and other foreign educational institutions. We share our good experiences and practices, exchange students and organize school events together.
