Arizona 4-H is excited to introduce the Western Heritage shooting project to our club and state as of 2024! Western Heritage is a unique shooting sports project as it combines period dress, persona creation and knowledge of the 1860-1900 historical time period with rapid-action, timed steel target shooting. Participants employ period-correct firearms such as SAA (Single Action Army) pistols, double barrel coach guns (.410, 20 and 12 gauge) and lever action rifles during timed relay engagements. There are also written and hands-on tests of the period in addition to live persona interviews conducted with a panel of judges.
