Paul Ahern is a USMC veteran, proud husband, and father of two great kids. Paul grew up in the Pacific Northwest where he spent much of his childhood enjoying outdoor exploration and competitive sports. He caught his first fish, a 6 ½’, 200# white sturgeon off the bank of the Columbia River when he was 10 years old. He played travel soccer from 8 years old through high school and even went on to play on a Navy team out of Guantanamo Bay Cuba. In 1989, his team won the Navy Tidewater championship in Norfolk VA. He stays active as an entrepreneur, currently offering sales engineering services to aerospace, defense, and semiconductor manufacturing industries. His hobbies are Dual Sport motorcycle riding, scuba diving, horsemanship, and most recently, shooting sports instruction and coaching. Paul’s vision for Chandler Hot Shots 4-H is that the “Club” fosters an inviting atmosphere where youth members and their families can learn the many positive benefits of being active in outdoorsmanship, marksmanship, and wildlife stewardship.
Kelley Ahern is a Co-Leader of Chandler Hot Shots 4H Shooting Sports Project. She is also a leader for the Buena Vista Mavericks 4-H Horse Project. She has been a leader in 4-H for a total of six years, five in Arizona and one in California. Her daughter and son have been involved in 4-H since 2019. In her free time, she loves to ride her family’s two horses with her daughter. Her family also heads to the lake to water ski, up the “hill” to snow ski, or stays home to play with the family's three dogs.
Jon Webster has been shooting since he was 5 years old. He understands that not just adults, but kids, can have a passion for shooting sports. He hunted big game at a young age. Later in his life he trained for tactical defense. Jon helped lead and train security teams for churches around the valley. He is a well-qualified certified 4-H instructor. He has many hours of training and enjoys helping kids to learn and improve their skill sets to achieve whatever it is they want out of shooting sports. His favorite disciplines of shooting sports are Pistol, Muzzleloader, and Western Heritage.
Megan Webster is a support volunteer who likes to shoot and wants to see 4-H’ers learn the fundamentals of shooting too. She has some outside tactical training and is a certified instructor for pistols and rifles. She has 3 daughters in the club. The aspect of shooting sports that she likes most is that Chandler Hot Shots 4-H can not only develop our youth into leaders through what they are learning, but also develop good character in the process.
