Hi, I'm Matteo and I was born in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. I am a PhD student in Physics at Sapienza University, Rome. Here I obtained my Bachelor's degree in 2014 with a thesis on the ATLAS detector. During my Master's, following my growing concern about energy and environment issues, my focus shifted to plasma and tokamak physics. In my thesis (advisor: Giovanni Montani and Nakia Carlevaro) I developed theoretical and numerical tools to analyze the beam-plasma interaction, as a way to mimic the interplay between Alfven waves and energetic particles in burning plasmas (https://doi.org/10.1017/S0022377820001142).
My research as a PhD student, under the supervision of Prof. Giovanni Montani, deals with analytical tokamak plasma equilibria including toroidal motion (https://doi.org/10.1088/1361-6587/ac30cc) and nonideal effects (https://doi.org/10.1017/S002237782100057X). Currently, I am pursuing two topics: plasma equilibria including field aligned motion (TBA), and applications of the beam-plasma formalism to a gravitational system (TBA).
