This qualification will give you an in-depth knowledge of the use of counselling skills in everyday life and work and the approaches that underpin the use of these skills.
You’ll identify, practice and develop a range of interpersonal and counselling skills and have an opportunity to understand and evaluate key elements of the main theoretical approaches to counselling. You’ll understand the context within which counselling skills and referral processes can be used whilst maintaining ethical standards and you’ll understand the implications of applying counselling skills in a diverse society.
The qualification also provides you with the opportunity to reflect on your personal development and the way in which you interact with others.
This qualification is ideal if you are seeking to enhance your work prospects or eventually work in a counselling role.
You will gain an understanding of a range of counselling skills and have the opportunity to examine some of the various schools of thought/theoretical models associated with them.
To be awarded the Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills learners are required to successfully complete 5 mandatory units.

The Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills is internally assessed by your tutor.
You could progress to Level 4 counselling qualifications or to employment in a role in which counselling skills are used.
