The mandatory units are:
Unit 1: Roles and responsibilities in Education
Unit 2: Planning to meet the needs of learners in education and training
Unit 3: Delivering education and training
Unit 4: Assessing learners in education and training
Unit 5: Using resources for education and training
PLUS 1 optional unit
For all units you will need you to develop and demonstrate effective practice in the use of Personal Learning Plans; to plan and deliver inclusive learning in accordance with internal processes and external requirements, and to evaluate your own practice. You will also need to promote and integrate the development of numeracy and literacy into your vocational area.
This course is a first stage teaching qualification which has a teaching/training practice requirement. It is an in-service qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as teachers/trainers. You must have access to 30 hours of teaching. This qualification is suitable for individuals delivering education and training in any learning environment.
You will need to hold the |Level 3 Award in Education and Training Level or PTTLS qualification.
You will need to hold a Level 3 Qualification in the discipline you are interested in teaching
You must possess either a GCSE or equivalent at Grade C or above or hold Adult Literacy and Numeracy qualifications at Level 2.
This course is taught using a variety of methods including practical sessions, group discussion and written assignments. You will be required to carry out practical teaching sessions and keep a reflective log of learning, as well as producing a portfolio of evidence.
You could progress onto the Professional Certificate/Graduate Certificate in Post Compulsory Education and Training or employment in an education and training capacity.
