IMPORTANT NOTE: The conference will be held in Druskininkai, not in Vilnius. Do not be confused by the name of the conference hotel (SPA VILNIUS), which operates in several Lithuanian towns.
Getting to Druskininkai
Druskininkai is a well-connected resort town situated near the southern border of Lithuania, approximately 120–130 km from the two largest Lithuanian urban centres, Vilnius and Kaunas. The two cities are easy to reach internationally by air, train, or bus. See section below for within-city transfer info.
Druskininkai town is accessible by car or bus:
During the day, direct domestic buses to Druskininkai depart hourly from Vilnius and Kaunas (2–3 hours, ~16 EUR).
FlixBus operates daily direct buses to Druskininkai from Warsaw and Riga (6–7 hours, ~27 EUR, departures from ~7 a.m.).
Please also note that during reconstruction until the end of 2026, the Druskininkai bus station is temporarily moved from the southern to the northern part of the town. However, once you arrive in Druskininkai, everything will be within 20 minutes' walking distance. Getting around Druskininkai with public transport or other means is extensively covered on the town’s tourism website.
Within-city transfers
To transfer from the International Vilnius Čiurlionis Airport (VNO) to the Vilnius bus station, which is right next to the train station, you can take:
the 10-minute trip on the Airport Express bus, which runs between 8:00 and 20:40 every 20–40 mins. The 3 EUR tickets are available online or on board;
the 7-minute trip on the special train, which runs between 7:00 and 21:00 every 1–2 hours. The 0.9 EUR tickets are available online, in ticket vending machines, or on board;
~20-minute ride on public buses No. 1 or 2 that depart once / twice per hour between 5:00 and 23:00. The 1.00 EUR tickets are available on the Trafi app or for cash on board.
To transfer from the International Kaunas Airport (KUN) to the Kaunas bus station, which is also within a 10-minute walk from the train station, you can take the ~40-minute ride on public bus No. 29, which runs hourly between 5:00 and 23:00. The 0.70 EUR tickets are available on board or via the Žiogas app.
A car ride via Bolt taxi or car-sharing services citybee or SPARK is a convenient option in both cities.
