December 2024 DEEP Draft Report on Siting Council Rules/Regs Changes
1.) Short notice of an important DEEP meeting regarding changes to Siting Council rules/regs, and a chance for us to respond until December 13. Please follow links. Siting Council changes are important for us to know about!
Pursuant to section 12 of Public Act 24-144, DEEP is required to conduct a study, in consultation with a range of state agency partners, and publish a report on the Connecticut Siting Council (hereafter CSC or Siting Council) by the end of 2024.
DEEP is holding a Hybrid Public Meeting on December 5th to provide an overview of the DRAFT CSC Report and receive oral comments from the public.
Written comments on the DRAFT CSC Report (linked below) can be submitted to DEEP by December 13th through an Online Survey or via email at DEEP.ERSI@ct.gov. We look forward to public feedback on the draft in preparation for the final report, which will be shared by the end of the year (December 31, 2024).

The following Petition (which was declined without prejudice) is regarding a revision of boundaries as below to accommodate construction of mega data centers and a switch yard:
PETITION NO. 1586 – Dominion Energy Nuclear Connecticut, Inc. petition for a declaratory ruling, pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes §4-176 and §16-50k, that neither a new Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need (Certificate) nor a modification to its existing Certificate is required to revise the boundaries of the Millstone Power Station electric generating facility site located off Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, Connecticut.
