Who we are

Concerned Citizens of Waterford and East Lyme/CCWEL, is an organized group of Waterford and East Lyme, CT, residents meeting since August, 2023. We formed due to growing unease and concern regarding the proposed building of mega data centers on Dominion Energy Nuclear Connecticut (DENC) property at Millstone Point, with direct connection to Millstone Nuclear Power Station Reactors 2 and 3.

Our goal is to build awareness around issues concerning 

• placement of a 1.5 million square foot mega data center and future data centers, in an established residential and environmentally-sensitive area, and 

• the Town of Waterford government’s lack of transparency in disclosing development plans to residents.
  
  

Our Concerned Citizens of Waterford name changed to Concerned Citizens of Waterford & East Lyme/CCWEL on January 9 in response to requests from East Lyme residents, at a public meeting on January 8.
