Planning ahead for high school graduation is important. Creating a plan can set you up for success with future college and/or career plans.
Use the Four Year Plan worksheet to carefully plan and keep track of high school graduation requirements. It also allows you to see where you may have room for elective classes that will help you meet other goals.
The first page of the Four Year Plan has room to keep track of the classes you take and the credit that is awarded each term. (Remember that credit is only awarded for passing grades A through D- or P.) There is room for Online and Summer Classes or Packets at the bottom of the page.
The second page has a credit checklist and detailed information about the Davis School District Graduation Requirements.
If you would like help with your Four Year Plan, be sure to stop by the Counseling Center. Your school counselor would be happy to help you.
3.0 credits of mathematics are required for high school graduation.
It is strongly recommended that students planning to attend college complete 4.0 credits of mathematics. Depending on their intended major, students can often complete some or all of their college math requirements during their senior year of high school.
Students must choose at least one class from two of the five Foundational Science Areas. The areas to choose from include Earth Systems, Biological Science, Chemistry, Physics, and AP Computer Science. These two selections represent two of the three required Science credits. One credit may be from any Foundational Science Area or from the Third Year Science Options.
NOTE: Some colleges and universities have science course requirements for admissions that exceed the high school graduation requirements. Be sure to check the admissions requirements for schools you may be interested in attending.
