Conservation Coaches Network Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand

Welcome to CCNet Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand!

We acknowledge the traditional custodians, elders and ancestral spirits of the lands we live and work on.

We are a network of individuals dedicated to promoting adaptive management and the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation (Conservation Standards). We are passionate about improving the practice of conservation in Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and globally.

We are part of a Global Conservation Coaches Network.

About

CCNet Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand Monthly Webinars

Every month the Conservation Coaches Network (CCNet) Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand will be running a webinar to discuss a variety of different topics relevant to the Conservation Standards (CS) and Healthy Country Planning (HCP)

We wanted to provide CCNet Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand practitioners and coaches with an opportunity to come together and learn from one another in an informal, online setting. The sessions will be facilitated by CCNet Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand Committee members and other members of the CS and HCP community.

Each month we will release information about the session, any resources associated with the session and a Zoom link for attendees. Each session will be recorded and uploaded to the CCNet YouTube account and linked via this website.

If you have any questions about the webinars please contact either:

About CCNet Global

The Conservation Standards are a free, common structure practitioners can use to promote evidence-based excellence in practice and learn from each other across organizational, geographic, cultural, temporal or spatial barriers.

CCNet trains and supports Conservation Coaches to lead Conservation Standards-based projects and programs. Coaches help teams identify strategies, develop measures, capture and articulate uncertainties; they encourage on-going assessment and continuity of effort; they link practitioners with other support services and identify peer projects with similar challenges. Coaches actively promote the Conservation Standards around the world.

About CCNet Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand

CCNet Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand is a network of workshop facilitators and conservation planners who apply a common planning framework, the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation, to natural resource management projects in Australia and New Zealand. The Open Standards (aka Conservation Action Planning or Healthy Country Planning) is a systematic process for identifying measurable goals and actions based on a sound understanding of the biological, social and/or cultural components of a landscape.

The Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation

If we want to meet our conservation goals, we must be able to determine what works, and what doesn’t. Making the most of the shared experiences of people around the world working in conservation, the members of the Conservation Measures Partnership (CMP) developed a set of adaptive management standards reflecting this work. The Conservation Standards brings together common concepts, approaches, and terminology in conservation project design, management, and monitoring and evaluation. For more information explore the Conservation Standards website here: Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation
