Inpatient Diet and Nutrition Order Changes - Information and Supports

Effective December 2, 2025, all Connect Care inpatient diet and nutrition orders are being updated to improve patient safety and standardization, and to update diet options. The orders are being updated with new content, display, and functionality. These changes impact all inpatient and Continuing Care settings. As these changes will break personalization, prescribers will have to re-personalize affected order sets (note that no action is required for surgical order sets). • • NEW (Dec 10): Inpatient diet order Patient List columns were impacted by the diet/nutrition order display name changes made December 2. Old columns no longer display adequate diet order details, and many old columns do not have hover function to see the details. New Patient List columns have been built to include diet order details in the hover. Users will need to re-personalize their inpatient Patient List columns to remove the old columns and replace with the new columns. These new columns include:

    • • Diet/EN Orders (118501) - Displays all active Adult Diet, Pediatric Diet, NPO Diet, and all Enteral Feeding Orders (Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal)

      • Other Diet Orders (874839) - Displays all active Diet Preferences, Tray Alteration orders (Early Meal/Tray, Late Meal/Tray, Bagged Meal/Kit, No Meal Tray), Snacks, Adult and Pediatric Oral Nutrition Supplement Orders, Calorie Count

      • Diet/Feeding Instructions (118849) - Displays all active Diet Instructions to Nursing and Feeding & Swallowing Instruction to Nursing, Ice Chips, Must be up for Meals, Encourage Fluids, and Assist with Feeding orders.

      • NutraPass (874894) - Displays all active NutraPass orders

      • PN Orders (875176) - Displays all active PN and Lipid orders
