This course examines the cognitive domains of learning and the corresponding research in web-based multimedia. It provides a theoretical construct by which distance educators can infuse learner-centered principles and examine the possibilities for streaming media in online education. Lec. 3, Cr. 3.
Project 1: Creating Infographics to Tell a Story with Data Infographics are an effective multimedia tool for analyzing and communicating large amounts of information. For this project, you will create a content-rich infographic on an edtech-related topic of your choice.
Project 2: Creating a ScreenCast To Do a “How To” Video For this project, you will use a screen capture app of your choice to create a screencast to teach people how to perform a specific skill or function on a computer or mobile device.
Project 3: Storyboarding a Multimedia-Rich Microlearning Object. In this project you will develop a storyboard to map out a multimedia-rich microlearning object to address a real-world instructional/training need or opportunity for a specific audience.
